use your fucking brains

” The Motion Picture Association of America says its industry brings back more export income than aerospace, automobiles or agriculture, and that piracy costs the country as many as 100,000 jobs.” - NYTimes article on SOPA. Without getting into the very limited scope of the article, this statement and others like it woefully misconstrue the power of SOPA/PIPA. The legislation is utterly incapable of affecting export markets. The blocking provisions start at US borders and therefore affect domestic markets. Black hat players abroad can continue operate their servers and offer pirated content to all of these valuable export markets and all the MPAA/RIAA is continue to stomp their petty little feet about it.
